Care of your new mattress
Thank you for choosing Memflex.
By buying this product you have taken the first steps to ensure refreshing and healthy nights sleep.
Memflex is carefully produced for your comfort using the latest technologies.
The following guidelines are to help prolong the product life and performance.
Once removed from the packaging, please leave your mattress uncovered in a well-ventilated room for a few hours to allow the mattress to acclimatise to the room temperature. Your new mattress may give off an odour after it is unpacked. Don’t worry, this is totally safe and will dissipate over time. Again ventilation will help this process. Air the mattress daily.
The materials used in your mattress are designed to conform to your body’s contour and some compression or settlement of fillings is normal. Do not turn over your mattress, however regular rotation and the use of a mattress protector will maintain the appearance and contribute to the longevity of the mattress.
Do not use detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress as this may damage the covering material on the mattress. Our mattress covers have a zip for manufacturing use only and are not cleanable. The exception to this is a removable non quilted washable cover, the details of which are identified on the product, note the adhesive label must be removed prior to washing.
Do not stand or store the mattress on its side, ensure it is kept flat at all times.
Getting used to your new mattress
It can take a little while to get used to your new mattress but don’t worry its just your body adjusting to a different level of support and comfort than it has been used to.
Allow time for your body to adjust to your new mattress and for the fillings to settle.
Filling Settlement.
All Memflex mattresses contain sumptuous amounts of fillings.
These layers will naturally tend to settle and settlement will be more pronounced in the areas under the most body weight. Your body will make a natural impression and this is quite normal.
Protecting your new mattress
An excellent way to protect a mattress is to compliment it with a mattress protector. A mattress protector prolongs the life of a mattress, makes it hygienic, minimises wear and tear and guards against marks and stains and perspiration stains.
Rotate Mattress
Your new mattress must be rotated from head to foot regularly.
Every week for the first 9 months is recommended.
Airing.
Remove the covers and sheets once a week. That will help your mattress breathe. Air circulating through the mattress components will help to keep it fresh and odour free.
